In order to purify the tourism service market, the Sanya Commercial Affair Bureau recently launched a citywide campaign on catering operators who set minimum consumption order amounts.

The campaign is in response to the management rule released by the Ministry of Commerce that bans restaurants from setting "minimum consumption requirements" from November 1st, 2014.

The regulation has gained support among the general public, as it is in the interests of the consumers. To ensure the regulation is carried out, catering operators across the city are encouraged to sign an agreement to standardize the catering market.

For complaints about the minimum consumption requirement on the catering industry, the Sanya commerce chiefs are calling for consumers to use their mobile devices to obtain evidence of regulation violations by the restaurants/hotels. Contact 12312.
