The Sanya Forum 2014 opened in Haitang Bay on December 13th. The theme of this year’s forum is “New Economy, New Balance”.
 
Prominent global leaders in politics, business and academia from China, the USA, Europe and Asia gathered to examine and propose targeted solutions to such pressing issues as Global Economy Trends and Management, Focus on Sanya–Smart Tourism and City Ecology, as well as discussing market forces and government policies in the urbanization process.
 
The former president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, President The World Food Prize Foundation, Kenneth M. Quinn, and Chinese agricultural scientist, Yuan Longping, attended the forum to deliver keynote speeches and/or take part in discussions.
 
The forum is organized by the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), and is being presented by CAIJING Magazine.
