The 2014 18th Sanya International Wedding Festival kicked off at Tianyahaijiao scenic spot of Sanya on December 12.
 
A total of 50 couples, including newly-married young couples and old married couples celebrating their silver or gold wedding anniversaries, attended a traditional Han-style wedding ceremony on the opening day. Among them, a few foreign couples from Russia attracted the most public attention.
 
Other themed activities including a wedding forum, a senior group wedding ceremony, the 2015 Wedding Industry Trends Conference, as well as many tailor-made wedding shows will be held in the following days.
 
As part of the city’s tourism marketing promotion campaign, the festival will help to promote Sanya as the perfect destination for weddings and honeymoons, thanks to its beautiful and romantic scenery.
