Hikers warned of wild monkeys at Sanya’s Linchun Forest Park
On November 28th, several park hikers found some little wild macaques wandering in the mountain stream of Linchun Forest Park in Sanya. Authorities have warned hikers to be wary of ill-behaved, hungry monkeys due to possible attacks.
The park management said Linchun Forest Park is situated close to Phoenix Hill Park, a place the wild monkeys frequent.
As the Linchun Forest Park is newly opened, many tourists carrying foodstuffs with them have attracted the hungry monkeys.
Authorities have advised tourists not to feed the wild macaques living in the park area because they could develop a habit of becoming hostile towards people who do not give them food.
