Sanya will see changes made to the taxi services in the city as the local transport bureau agreed to the proposal of adding 300 new taxis on the roads before the 2015 Chinese New Year holiday.

Taxi drivers who are caught refusing to take passengers or refusing to use their meters will be added into the blacklist system.

To protect the beach and the local environment, the local environment bureau will launch a campaign to crack down on illegal constructed buildings. Restaurants, bars and barbecue stalls that don’t have licenses will be required to be altered or torn down.

The Industry & Commerce Department plans to strengthen its supervision at scenic spots, shopping centers, restaurants and other service sectors to prevent illegal price hikes to protect the interests of tourists.
