Sanya recently committed to various measures to improve traffic on several of the city’s notoriously congested roads including Yingbin Road, Sanya Bay Road and Fenghuang Road.

This year, the city’s traffic department has invested nearly 2 billion yuan into improvement projects, such as an emergency rainwater drainage project, parking space expansion and traffic sign updating.

The road section linking Fenghuang Road and Phoenix Hill Park is set to open soon. After its opening, vehicles that head to Hong Sha from Beauty Crown Center do not necessarily need to pass through the notoriously congested roads including Xia Yang Tian and Dadonghai, which should greatly alleviate the traffic pressure on Yingbin Road.

Meanwhile, the local city planning department is considering building an overpass connecting Fenghuang Road and Yingbin Road to help smooth the traffic conditions on those roads.
