On November 16th, one of the super luxury cruise liner “The World” berthed at the Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal with over 100 international high-end passengers on board.
 
On November 16th, the super luxury cruise liner “The World” berthed at the Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal with over 100 international high-end passengers on board.

Dubbed as a "floating 6-star hotel", the cruise liner is the largest private residential ship on the planet at 644 feet and 43,000 tons in weight.

The number of cruise ships to visit Sanya has been increasing since the establishment of Sanya‘s homeport business.

In October, the ‘Sun Princess’, a luxury cruise ship of Princess Cruises line operated by Carnival Corporation & PLC, made her maiden call at the Sanya port. It is the third biggest and most luxurious of the international luxury cruise ships which have berthed in Sanya.

Sanya, home to China’s most luxury high-end hotels, has been adopted by many domestic cruise lines as their home port in China.

Hainan Strait Shipping Co.’s cruise ship, the Coconut Princess, has been serving the trip between Sanya and Xisha Islands since this October.
