Sanya was ranked among the top 10 suitable retirement cities in China, according to a report jointly released by the China Health & Senior Care Industry Alliance and the China Investment Network.

The top 10 cities for retirees in China were Sanya, Zhuhai, Xiamen, Zhongshan, Guiyang, Fuzhou, Shanwei, Yangzhou, Pingxiang and Lijiang.

The list was made from a survey consisting of the following aspects: air quality, medical service, transport convenience and livability for retirees.
