Beautiful tropical sceneries and a comfortable living environment are the main reasons for investors who want to own their own residences in Sanya.

This year, the housing transaction area in Sanya has declined 43.7% compared with that of a year earlier, but many local property developers believe that demand for holiday homes in Sanya may grow further in the next decade as retirement resorts gain traction in China.

According to the Sanya Real Estate Transaction Bureau, non-island citizens constituted 85% of commercial residential home purchases in Sanya. Buyers from the northeast of China, Beijing and the Yangtze River Delta region are the main force of purchases in home properties in Sanya.
