The 2014 8th Sanya Auto Show opened on Wednesday at Dadonghai Square, where viewers have been crowding around the new models and cars.

The Sanya Auto Show is the largest outdoor auto show of its kind in Hainan. According to organizers, a total of 40 automakers are taking part in the event, displaying more than 180 models.

Following the sales growth in the last two editions, this year’s show has witnessed orders for 218 cars, with sales totalling 47.69 million yuan on the first day.

Organized by the Nandao Evening News in Hainan, the auto show will run through Sunday.
