Three villages in Hainan made it onto the list of 2014 China’s Most Beautiful Chinese Villages for Leisure, recently released by the Ministry of Agriculture.

They are Binglang Village in Sanya, Tianxin Village in Qiongshan District of Haikou City, and Shihan Village in Qiongzhong County.

Additionally, the Longshouyang Paddy Field in Qionghai City has been honored as the 2014 China’s Beautiful Pastoral Landscape.

The contest featured expert evaluation, online popular voting, and media monitoring in the awarding of prizes in the areas of ecotourism and cultural tourism. A total of 100 villages and 140 landscapes were included in the list.
