Hainan to build over 1,000 leisure agriculture bases by 2020

Hainan is striving to build more than 1,000 leisure agriculture bases across the island by 2020, with total revenue reaching over 1.5 million yuan, according to a recent plan on the development of Hainan leisure agriculture industry.
The latest figure showed that more than 10 million tourists had participated in various leisure agriculture activities on the island over the last 4 years.
According to the planning, the number of leisure agriculture bases across the island is expected to reach more than 1,000, including 20 national leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration sites and 200 provincial leisure agricultural demonstration bases.
Additionally, relevant departments are working on supportive policies to better guide the development of the island’s leisure agriculture and rural tourism industry
