In order to control emissions and improve air quality, a total of 3,571 yellow label vehicles, which failed to meet National emissions standards, will be banned from the city roads by the end of this year, according to reports.

The city has implemented bans and control measures regarding heavily polluting vehicles in urban areas. According to the plan, about 20,000 heavily polluting vehicles will be prohibited from driving on roads by the end of this December.

Yellow label vehicles are among those that do not meet the National Emission Standard Level 1 (gasoline engine), or Level 3 (Diesel engine).

Sanya is known for its best air quality in China due to favorable weather conditions. Residents hope this will continue to be true. The city will continue to phase out the heavily polluting vehicles to improve air quality.
