A campaign was launched in April this year to solicit mascot designs from the public for Sanya’s tourism industry. The 21 outstanding candidates were announced recently.

On November 4th a panel composed of more than 20 experts selected 21 designs from over 100 entries. The designs reflect the cultural characteristics of Sanya by combining the elements of Sanya’s distinctive tourism resources and city orientation.

These outstanding mascot designs will be unveiled later at the major scenic spots and on the official websites www.sanyatour.com/ in Sanya for public voting for the final round of the competition.

The final winner will receive a total cash reward of US $50,000 and those whose works are selected as “Excellent Works” will be awarded US $5,000.

The event is being organized by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission and undertaken by Hainan Tianying Investment Company and Sanya Tianya International Cultural Industry Development Co. Ltd
