Data released by Sanya Taxis Call Center show that 57.86% of the on-call taxi-hailing orders have been successfully made in the city since it started operation in February 2013.

Passengers in Sanya can easily book taxis by calling the service hotline “96789”. Their information will be sent to nearby taxi drivers who can then secure the order.

There are 200 radio taxis operating in the city. Additionally, 1,264 ordinary taxis are equipped to deliver the same service.

In the past, intercoms have been used to arrange the taxi order, which is less effective. With the new system, an optimal allocation of taxi resources is being achieved, and traffic jams at peak hours are being alleviated.

So far, some larger cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou have launched this service, greatly satisfying the peak demand during rush hours.
