The WPT (World Poker Tour) National China 2014 competition kicked off for the third straight year at the MGM Grand Sanya in Yalong Bay on October 27th.

The 7-day tournament, run by the World Poker Tour’s Executive Tour Director, Matt Savage, will attract top poker players from 10 countries and regions to compete for the prize totaling RMB 8.8 million.

"WPT National China Tournament Sanya demonstrates the growing appetite for world-class poker tournaments in China,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. "We hope this year’s tournament to be even more successful, and look forward to returning to help promote Texas Hold ‘Em poker and the new emerging talent in China."

Since its opening at the end of 2011, the MGM Grand Sanya has become a main venue for hosting a variety of sports and games events in the city. The hotel has successfully hosted the WPT National China tournament for 3 consecutive years and hosted the 14th World Bridge Series this October
