Hong Kong to Sanya Race 2014 concludes at Sanya Serenity Marina
After days of intense competition, the Hong Kong to Sanya Race 2014, which began at Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour on Thursday, October 16th, ended at Sanya Serenity Marina on October 19th, with Team Beau Geste winning the championship after beating 8 other sailing teams.
The sailing competition attracted 9 sailing boat teams from different countries and regions who took part in the 355 nautical mile race.
First organized to mark the return of Hong Kong to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in 1997 and conducted by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) in co-operation with the Chinese Yachting Association, the finish this year was hosted by Serenity Marina in Sanya, Hainan. The race is well established and represents the only existing Category 1 offshore race to finish in the PRC
