Ye Cong, the chief designer of China’s manned deep-sea submersible Jiaolong in the South China Sea, said recently that they are in the process of executing a design for a commercial tourist submarine, and it is expected to be put into operation in Sanya to enrich the city’s underwater tourism projects next year.

The tourist submarine, capable of diving to 40 meters, can contain up to 9 passengers.

Tourists can visit the underwater world easily without any devices, and all kinds of coral, tropical fish, sea urchins, starfishes, shells and shipwreck debris can be viewed through the submarine’s bright and huge viewing windows
