Sanya to add 150 taxis to ease shortage of cabs in Haitang Bay
Sanya is planning to add 150 taxis in the city to help cope with the cab shortage problem in the Haitang Bay area.
Haitang Bay is one of the major bays in Sanya and has received massive investment in recent years with many of the world’s major hotel chains setting up there. At the moment, the total number of hotel rooms in Haitang Bay is 4,000, which are capable of accommodating 1 million tourists annually.
Taxis are still in short supply as the annual volume of tourists has increased greatly. Many tourists have been complaining about the shortage of taxis running from Haitang Bay to nearby scenic spots and downtown.
According to the plan, each of the 150 taxis are required to operate in the Haitang Bay region for at least two days every month
