The 2014 14th World Bridge Series opened at the MGM Grand Sanya on October 11th.

This year’s event has attracted more than 1,400 players from 56 countries and regions. The tournament features pairs and teams in four categories: Open, Women’s, Seniors and Mixed.

The series is hosted by the Chinese Contract Bridge Association in cooperation with Beijing Lianzhong Co. Ltd. and Sanya City.

It is the first time for the World Bridge Series to be hosted by a city outside Europe and America. Sanya, known as the “Hawaii of the Orient,” features many beaches, warm weather and natural and coastal vistas. The series will last till October 25th.
