Sanya has seen a continuous boom in its tourism industry during the Golden Week holiday this year, according to statistics revealed by the Sanya Holiday Office.

During the holiday period, Sanya received a total of 534,900 tourists from home and abroad, and raked in 1.868 billion yuan in tourism revenue. This marks an increase of 22.82% and 22.98%, respectively, year on year.

This year, the city saw a boom in self-service travel during the holiday. Many tourists and holiday travelers booked air tickets and made hotel reservations over the Internet.

According to new statistics, the main scenic spots in Sanya saw a combined 392,900 visiting tourists, a year-on-year increase of 7.17%.

According to statistics, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 67.06% and the average room rate across the city was 756 yuan.

In addition, tours of rural areas and surrounding areas also saw their popularity rise during the holidays. The Yalong Bay Rose Valley saw a total of 17,300 tourists, bringing in 1.59 million yuan in ticket sales revenue.
