According to the Sanya Holiday Office, 7 scenic spots in the city welcomed a total of 52,700 visitors on October 2, up 9.7% compared with the same period of the previous year. On the same day, the average occupancy rate reached 76.05% in tourism hotels around the city, up 4.03% year on year.
 
October 2 was also the traditional Double Nine Festival in China, and a 2014 China Sanya Nanshan Mountain Long Live Culture Festival was held in the Nanshan Mountain Scenic Spot to celebrate the tradition festival. The scenic spot also launched a series of special offers for the elderly or families with elderly members.
 
On October 1, a total of 15,900 people visited the Sanya Duty-Free Shop, up 76.67% compared with the same period of the previous year. 15,600 passengers travelled through the Sanya Railway Station, up 49.6% year on year. Passengers who arrived at the Sanya Railway Station reached 16,000 people, up 5.35% compared with last year. A total of 291 airplanes flew through the Phoenix Airport, up 11.5% year on year.
