Sanya Phoenix International Airport is expected to handle 320,000 passengers during the National Day holiday, or "Golden Week," which begins Oct 1, according to an official at the airport.
 
The airport is expected handle on average of 45,000 passengers per day during the holiday, a rise of 23.3% over the same period last year.
 
The airport will deal with 2,050 flights, an average of 293 flights per day, an increase of 17.1% compared with the same period of 2013, the airport authority noted.
 
According to the official, the airport has initiated its emergency response measures to ensure the safe, smooth and orderly transport of passengers during the holiday. The airport will strengthen its management of taxis to ensure the timely departure of all passengers from the airport to their destinations.
