A special proposal on the construction of a slow traffic system in Sanya was recently approved.

According to the plan, a number of pilot zones for a slow traffic system will be constructed by 2015. As of now, 3 slow lanes have been confirmed, including a section on Sanya Bay Road, Haiyue Plaza-Yingbin Road-Yalong Bay Road, and Nanbianhai Road-Luhuitou Road.

The slow-traffic sightseeing lane is part of the city’s efforts to advocate low-carbon travel by using green transportation.

Upon its completion, the slow-traffic lane will not only promote low-carbon environmental protection among tourists, but also allow tourists to appreciate the city from more angles including the beach, sea and mountains by bike.
