Volunteers clean up garbage on Yazhou Bay beach
On September 20, more than 100 volunteers arrived at Yazhou Bay Beach to take part in the annual International Coastal Cleanup co-organized by the Sanya Tourism Association and Sanya Blue Ocean Protection Association, calling for environmental protection with through on the ground action in Sanya.
These volunteers donned bright blue ‘clean up crew’ T-shirts to stuff trash bags full of trash in an effort to keep Sanya’s beaches beautiful.
Meanwhile, volunteers from other universities and hotels also took part in the annual beach cleanup at beaches in Sanya Bay, Dadonghai and Yalong Bay.
According to the a representative from the Blue Ocean Protection Association, the campaign involved 18-km of coastline in Sanya and 13.7 tons of beach garbage was cleared by volunteers during the daylong campaign
