Many world-renowned hotel brands have expanded their presence in Haikou’s hospitality market, which is emerging as a preferred MICE tourism destination.
 
Since the opening of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in 2011, the existing, limited-in-size luxury properties have barely been able to meet the increasing demand of high-end tourists, mainly coming from the meetings and conferences market.
 
Resort development has continued in Haikou. There are currently 11 luxury brand hotels operating in the city, and 15 more are scheduled to open over the next 5 years.
 
The 15 luxury brand hotels include The St. Regis Haikou, Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance Hotels at Mission Hills Haikou, Hard Rock Hotel, The Westin Haikou, The Langham, Haikou and Sofitel Haikou.
