The Sanya government recently carried out a plan to build Yucai Town in to a Li and Miao ethnic scenery town in the north of the city.

As a typical town of the Li & Miao minority, Yucai Town has a rich Li & Miao cultural background. It will be built into a display area of Li & Miao culture and will be an ecological tourism town featuring pastoral scenery, folk customs and resorts by 2020.

According to the Sanya Government, Yucai Town is the only rural site in Sanya that is currently listed as one of Hainan’s 3 key model cultural towns in 2014.

A special fund has been allocated for infrastructure projects for the town, including landscape greening, environmental protection and street renovations. The regional government is also improving road access to facilitate more convenient travel to Yucai Town.
