Hotels in Sanya saw a jump in tourist numbers during Mid-Autumn Festival, according to reports.

Compared with previous years, the hotel occupancy rates increased 15%-25%, with most of the family guests staying in four and five-star hotels.

According to local travel agents, the increase in tourist numbers is partly owing to the stability in hotel rates and the good holiday environment, which leads to significant savings in quotations for group travelers and independent travelers.

Major scenic spots in Sanya, including the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, the Tianyahaijiao Scenic Spot and the Daxiaodongtian Scenic Spot were crowded with tourists, of which individual travelers accounted for 70% of the tourist arrivals.

Besides, hotel rates and airline prices for the 2014 Mid-autumn Festival Holiday were generally 10%-20% lower compared to those of the summer vacation period.
