As of September 8th, the passenger throughput this year at Sanya Phoenix International Airport once again hit 10 million, 46 days earlier than last year, setting an all-time record, according to official statistics.

During the summer vacation between July 1st and September 10th, the total number of flights that had departed and landed at the airport totaled 17,784, an increase of 21.6% over the same period last year, while passenger throughput increased 22.5% to 2.527 million.

At present, many airline companies have increased their flights to Sanya from major domestic cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha and Zhengzhou.

With peak flying season approaching, this year’s passenger throughput at Sanya airport is expected to total 14.3 million.
