The ‘Sanya-Luneng’ 6th World Cup Woodball Championship & China (Sanya) International Woodball Open Championship 2014 kicked off at the Luneng Sanya Sports Centre on September 7th.

More than 500 contestants and judges from over 28 countries and regions attended the event, including players from Taiwan, a hub for the promotion of the game.

The World Cup Woodball Championship, the highest level of woodball competition, has been held every two years since 2004, and so far it has been successfully held in Taipei, Thailand, Malaysia and other Asian countries. This is the first time that this event has been held on the Chinese mainland.

The 4-day tournament includes an individual event, group event and junior event.
