Haikou to expand its free Wi-Fi network across city
Soon it will be much easier for residents and tourists to access Wi-Fi across Haikou as the local government will be expanding its free Wi-Fi network access to more public locations.
Earlier in 2008, Haikou pushed forward the idea of the “Wireless Haikou” project, and it was approved by experts the same year.
As related implementation plans are under discussion, more free Wi-Fi services may be available across Haikou soon.
Free Wi-Fi services have been regarded as one of the key marketing projects in Haikou. In some coffee houses and restaurants, business owners now offer free Wi-Fi services for customers.
Currently, several public street Wi-Fi hotspots have been set up in Haikou’s public bike rental kiosks, and provide Wi-Fi with coverage expanding 200 meters around the kiosks.
