The luxury cruise ship named Coconut Princess left the Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal on September 2nd carrying 216 tourists on its maiden voyage from Sanya to the Xisha Islands.

Hainan Strait Shipping Co.’s cruise ship, the Coconut Princess, had been running the route between Haikou and Sansha since April of last year. Hainan Strait Shipping Co. is currently the only operator running a route from Sanya to the Xisha Islands.

To shorten the cruise time and enhance travelers’ experience, the operator has changed its base port from Haikou to Sanya. The prior 20-hour cruise to the Xisha Islands from Sanya has been shortened by 6 hours. Besides, sightseeing time on the islands has been extended from 28 hours before to 36 hours now.

The 281-berth ship offers tourists a four-day, three-night cruise on the sea and to the Xisha Islands, an island area boasting more than 40 islets and reefs.

Another two sailings by the Coconut Princess are set to take place on September 13th and September 27th.
