According to the latest report on air quality in 74 Chinese cities, which was released by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Haikou once again ranked No.1 for best air quality in China.
 
Of the 74 sampled cities, they are mainly located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and the Yangtze River Delta/Pearl River Delta regions.
 
The average daily ratio of good air quality in Haikou reached 100% in April.
 
In recent years, Haikou has invested a lot into environmental protection. With great progress made in reducing pollution in the city, the environmental quality has improved a great deal and Haikou came out on top among 74 major key domestic cities.
 
Besides, the city has also implemented a wide range of measures to control emissions from motor vehicles and dust pollution on construction sites to maintain its good air quality.
