Haitang Bay Duty-free Shopping Center, the world’s largest duty-free mall, opened in Sanya on September 1st.

The Haitang Bay Duty-free Shopping Center covers a total land area of 120,000 square meters. The phase one of the project, the duty-free shopping center, has a business area of 70,000 square meters, bringing together nearly 300 well-known international brands that cover clothing, bags, perfumes, cosmetics, watches, sunglasses, small leather goods and 21 other categories.

Besides, the duty-charging area is divided into 5 sections, featuring Hainan specialties, special cuisines, special overseas commodities, outdoor sports products and a customer service center.

Now that the new duty-free store has opened, the former duty-free store downtown has been closed own. To make it more convenient for tourists, the duty-free company has also launched three free shuttle bus services to the store.

According to the CITS Group Corporation, the new complex represents a landmark with great significance to the development history of CDFG and is a major step forward for Hainan’s tourism industry. It is expected to help Haitang Bay become China’s main retail travel destination.
