The Sanya authorities recently established a joint law enforcement team to intensify their efforts in cracking down on illegal marine tourism activities in Queen Bay.

According to the Haitang Bay Management Committee, many unqualified tourism enterprises have organized sightseeing tours at Queen Bay, an unofficial scenic spot in Sanya.

So far during the campaign, 7 unlicensed operators in Queen Bay have been banished from further organizing illegal sightseeing tours and more than 27 illegal buildings, involving a land area of 5,140 square meters, have been demolished.

In the first half of 2014, the Sanya Tourism Authority received 25 complaints from tourists and residents relating to marine activities in Queen Bay.
