According to the Hainan Strait Shipping Co. Ltd, the new cruise tours from Sanya to the Xisha Islands are scheduled to begin on September 2nd, 2014.

Since tours to Xisha opened on April 28 last year, the Coconut Princess was the only cruise ship to travel to the islands. The ship made 14 voyages, carrying more than 2,000 domestic tourists.

To enhance the travel experience, the company decided to optimize the travel routes, including changing the departing place and shortening the length of the voyage.

The cruise ship will now depart from the Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal and pass through the North Reef to reach the Yongle Islands.

After landing on the Yongle Islands, tourists will be guided around the 3 major islands of Yinyu Island, Quanfu Island and Yagong Island, and will able to watch the sunrises over the sea, visit local fishing villages and sample fresh, locally sourced seafood aboard the ship.

The 4-day cruises are priced between 4,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan.

Located southeast of Hainan, the Xisha Islands consist of 22 islands, seven sandbanks and a dozen reefs. Its scenery is comparable to that of the Maldives.
