The world’s largest duty-free shopping center in Haitang Bay, Sanya will open for business on September 1st, 2014.

The shopping center is located at the Haitang Bay North Area. The design of the building’s is inspired by the natural scenery of Sanya and the shopping centre is divided into five areas, each inspired by the ocean, crab-apples, flowers, fruit and nature.

The first and second floors of the mall are occupied by the duty-free stores and duty-charging commodities. The mall has attracted nearly 300 international brands. Some 21 categories of items will be on sale ranging from perfume and cosmetics to jewelry, watches, clothes, and bags. The third floor is used for supporting food and beverages to cater for diners, with food including snack from Taiwan and Chengdu.

Once the new mall is in operation, the former duty-free shop downtown will be closed. To facilitate public transportation, the duty-free company has also launched three free shuttle bus services to the center.

As of July this year, the Sanya Duty-free Shop has received 12.4 million visitors with duty-free sales totaling 7.4 billion yuan.
