Construction on Haikou’s Wuyuanhe Cultural & Sports Center is scheduled to be completed in 2018, according to reports.
 
Located at the west coastline district of Haikou, the Wuyuanhe Cultural & Sports Center will take up an area of 287 hectares.
 
The Wuyuhe project will consist of a 60,000-sqm sports stadium which can accommodate 40,000 visitors, a 12,000-seat comprehensive sports stadium, a 2,000-seat national swimming and diving hall, a 3,000-seat tennis court, a 50,000-sqm exhibition hall, a 7000-sqm concert hall, a 50,000-sqm Haikou media center and a 20,000-sqm winter training base.
 
Upon its completion, the center will be capable of holding 30 large cultural and athletic events annually.
