The Haipo District of Sanya Bay in Sanya will become a new resort area for tourists, as a project has recently been approved by local authorities to build the district into a coastal resort and a new modern and multifunctional city.

The planned area of Sanya Bay’s new city occupies nearly 7 square kilometers. The entire development will be completed in three self-contained stages.

Under the plan, the Sanya Bay new city will be developed to reflect the local culture and the physical location that embraces the natural wonders of the mountains, river and sea, while paying close attention to protecting the area’s ecology.

At present, the on-going projects include residential relocations. The authorities have paid RMB 310 million in compensation so far.
