Haikou’s Baishamen Park strives to be national 4A-level Scenic Spot
Recently, the Haikou Tourism Development Commission issued a document to announce the promotion of the Baishamen Park into a national 4A-level scenic spot.
In 2013, Baishamen Park was graded as a national 3A-level scenic spot, and now will make efforts to build itself into a 4A-level scenic spot in the coming years.
The Park is located at the northern part of Haidian Island in Haikou. Opened on January 24, 2009, the park and has a total area of 60 hectares. It contains a small amusement park and an artificial lake. The northern edge is a sandy beach on the Qiongzhou Strait.
The scenic spot introduced a northern Hainan food street last year to offer better catering services for visitors, which has not only improved the quality of the park, but also promoted the popular snacks of Northern Hainan. More entertainment facilities will be introduced soon, such as a water-themed playground to offer all-round entertainment services for visitors.
It is one of four major parks in Haikou, and can be compared to Evergreen Park due to its high percentage of grass fields. The other two, Golden Bull Mountain Ridge Park and Haikou People’s Park, have a high percentage of tree coverage.
