Construction work has officially begun on three major road projects in Sanya.

The improvement of Chunguang Road with a stretch of 3,115 meters from Fenghuang Road to Yingbin Road, has been 60% completed. Besides, the road project, starting from the intersection of Xinfeng Road and Fenghuang Road to the entrance gate of Phoenix Hill Park, will be finished in December.

When completed, the two projects will effectively ease traffic pressure on the existing roads of Yinbing Road and Yuya Road during travel peak periods.

The Hongshan Tunnel Road is one of the first-level road projects with a total investment of 470 million yuan. The Hongsha Tunnel project, which will connect Hongsha and downtown Sanya, covers a length of around 1.8 km and is set to be completed in 2015.

Preliminary work, including land acquisition and candidate site selections for the project, have been launched.
