The 2014 Hainan Taekwondo Championship that was held on July 27th has been hailed a success in Sanya.

Over 800 athletes participated in the event. The competition was divided into 5 different age groups: young children, children, youth, junior and adults. The taekwondo tournament consisted of individual events and group events – for competitions which included poomsae and competitive taekwondo.

Besides, the 2014 China National Public Taekwondo Championship will be held in the Sanya Sports Stadium from August 8th-11th, 2014.

The competition, which saw delegations from all over China attending, including athletes from the national team, is expected to boost the development and popularity of taekwondo in Sanya.
