Many scenic spots in Sanya closed, affected by Typhoon Rammasun
According to the Sanya Tourism Administration, many scenic spots in Sanya, including Tianyahaijiao Scenic Spot and Dongtian Park, were closed as of 1 pm on Friday due to the downpours caused by Typhoon Rammasun.
The number of tourists visiting scenic spots around the city declined sharply on July 18th, as the typhoon was forecast to make landfall in Wenchang late in the day.
It also led to the delay and cancellation of 21 incoming flights and 19 outgoing flights at Sanya Phoenix Airport as of 11:30am on Friday, stranding thousands of passengers.
Authorities on Friday issued a second-level typhoon alert and ordered all departments in the city to strengthen their preparations
