Sanya takes measures to regulate car rental industry
A comprehensive enforcement on the car rental market has been launched by a multi-sectoral cooperation mechanism to better regulate the industry.
On July 4th, the city’s law enforcement team conducted special inspections on more than 10 car rental companies in the Dadonghai and Fenghuang Road areas. As a result, one company was ordered to shut down because they lacked legal authorized admission and 10 were found to be violating by operating beyond their legal limits.
The car rental service market is growing with the increasing development of self-driving travel to Sanya. However, these unregistered car rental companies often lead to a lack of protection for tourist’s legitimate rights and interests when there is a dispute.
Authorities are encouraging tourists to report any distributors and organizations suspected of operating the car rental businesses illegally by calling the tourism complaint hotline 12345.
