Sanya plans to give priority to developing 6 modern service industry clusters to boost it into a competitive international tourism destination.

The 6 modern service industry clusters include a leisure holiday area, a MICE industry area, a cultural creative industry area, international healthcare tourism, a regional financial center and a headquarters economy area.

Sanya’s tourism industry is going to focus on further developing strong tourism brands covering marine tourism, tropical islets and forest tourism, rural tourism, healthcare tourism, cultural and sports tourism as well as ethnic tourism.

Meanwhile, the local government will improve its tourism service system to cultivate a sound environment for tourism standardization and is seeking to open more cruise routes to overseas regions like Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
