Sanya receives Best Promotion CD Award at 6th TPO Forum in Malaysia

Sanya has been honored with the Best Promotion CD Award at the 6th Forum and working level meeting of TPO in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 26 to 30, 2014.

According to the Sanya Tourism Development Commission, Sanya has been honored with the Best Promotion CD Award at the 6th Forum and working level meeting of TPO that was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 26th to 30th, 2014.

The TPO Forum is a venue for communication and exchange of information related to management in the tourism industry as well as discussions of key issues the tourism industry faces. This year’s TPO Forum attracted 37 member cities from 6 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, China and China’s Taiwan.

In order to attract more tourists from TPO member cities, Mr. Tang Sixian, Vice Director of the Sanya Tourism Development Commission, sent out invitations to representative travel agencies to visit Sanya, aiming to develop cooperation opportunities with Sanya in the tourism industry.

Established in 2002, TPO is an international travel cooperation organization with governmental institutions as members. At present, TPO has a total of 72 city members in 11 countries.

Sanya became a member in 2003. TPO is aimed at promoting the development of the travel industry in Asian- Pacific areas.

At the end of the meeting, the baton for the 7th Travel Promotion Organization (TPO) Conference was passed to Sanya.

The 7th Travel Promotion Organization (TPO) Conference is set to take place in Sanya on May 24-26, 2015.
