Sanya Phoenix International Airport was awarded the Fastest Growing Airport at the recent 2014 2nd China Airport Development Summit in Shanghai.

First opened in July 1994, Sanya Phoenix International Airport is a major provincial airport for domestic and international flights.

As of 2013, passenger volume at Sanya Phoenix International Airport hit a record high of 12.87 million people, and its cargo and mail throughput reached 158,000 tons in the period.

The annual summit provides a unique platform that brings together official executives and professionals from the industry to discuss strategies and the latest developments and innovative approaches in China’s airport industry.
