Sanya’s GDP in the first quarter of this year reached 11.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2% calculated on comparable prices, according to statistics released by the Sanya Statistics Bureau.

The added value of primary industry stood at 2.631 billion yuan, up 2.2%, 1.602 billion yuan in secondary industry, up 13.3% and 7.437 billion yuan in tertiary industry, down 0.2%.

Affected by the natural disasters, the agricultural production in the first quarter grew slowly and the dramatical decline in housing transaction sales also led to a slower growth economy.

The total added value of the agricultural and real estate industries reached 5,917, down 8.9%, accounting for 50.7% of the city’s total GDP.
