The grand opening of Haitang Bay Duty-free Shopping Center is set for the end of this August.

In early 2013, around 120 leading suppliers attending the Vendors Conference of CDF Haitang Bay International Shopping Complex and more than 20 suppliers signed a memorandum of understanding to co-operate on the landmark project.

Upon its opening, the existing duty-free store downtown will be closed. To make it more convenient for tourists, the store is planning to open a free shuttle bus service. Tourists can take the buses from Yalong Bay, Sanya Bay and Luhuitou, respectively, to the duty-free shop. Besides, a new high-speed rail station will be added in Haitang Bay in the near future to give a boost to the duty-free shopping in the region.

According to the CITS Group Corporation, the new complex will represent a landmark with great significance to the development history of CDFG and will be a major step forward for Hainan’s tourism industry. It will help Haitang Bay become the retail travel destination of China.
