Police in Sanya have launched a 6-month-long campaign to punish road traffic violations across the city from May 22nd to November 30th, 2014.

The regulatory activity aims to direct traffic and take action against those who break traffic rules among operators and drivers of buses, taxis, tour buses and trucks, including illegal operations, overloading, driving in the wrong direction, driving without a license, driving assembled or unserviceable vehicles on the road and other related traffic violations.

The authorities will strengthen enforcement at the airport, railway station, scenic spots and other major areas and they will continue to take action to improve the public transport system and the capability of public transport to ensure smooth traffic operations, as well as to enhance the educational guide for passengers.

On Thursday, the first day of the 6-month crackdown, traffic authorities have handled 185 cases of illegal behavior.
